I just now installed today's updated exp version 346f952dc2-241102 onto a 160GB thin 7th Gen that has an iFlash-Quad with a Samsung microSD. Windows has the same problem(s) with it as with the 80GB 6th Gen.
Okay, good to know there was no functional change. I didn't expect anything, but you never know.
Oh, can you dump the identify info from the 120GB HDD? Trying to build up the collection.
I'm seeing a directory on the root level of my iPod that I don't recall seeing before, named FOUND.000. It contains one file, named FILE0000.CHK. Is this relevant to what we are doing?
No, that's from CHKDSK -- it found a cluster chain in the FAT but no associated directory entry.
PS - If possible, please use new/unique names for each subsequent test version as I now have copies of the first one in several locations and it will be difficult to keep track of different versions if the zip files all have the same name. Thanks.
I updated it before you replied; I was hoping you'd have not grabbed it. But no worries, future builds will be uniquely named.
I completed the install (as far as I can tell) and spent the last hour trying to make sense of how to use Wireshark and USBPcap, but even with the online help and tutorials it is technically beyond me - I am totally lost. I have virtually no knowledge/experience/comfort in Windows beyond reformatting iPods in iTunes and installing Rockbox. I'm sorry, but I can't capture a USB sniff for you.
Does this video help?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MC-D_oNzbkI appreciate you trying, I expect the problem you're seeing will be easy to fix once I can see what rockbox vs the ipod is sending to the OS..)
