Rockbox manager
« on: July 07, 2024, 04:16:46 PM »
Creating a large database and the pictureflow slides on the player is slow. I am aware of the database tool, which is very handy to create the database using a computer. But I think having a "Rockbox manager" that does all of this would be great. Ideally, adding this functionality to the Rockbox Utility would be nice.

I've long thought that would be the 'ideal', but it seems like a huge job to ask anyone to do - like writing a RB-specific version of iTunes.
Now that the downloadable RB sims for Windows are up-to-date again, I've gone back to using the sim to build the database (then copying the files onto the ipod).  In a way the sim acts as a sort of "rockbox manager", as long as one can keep the build version up-to-date with the ipod itself.
On that note, am now trying to work out how to build and copy the pictureflow database that way.

Also, this in turn brings up a question about what has happened to the "WPS context menu" "open plug-in" option.  Used to use that to open picture-flow, but I can't now find where to set "picture flow" as the WPS context menu plug-in.  Something seems to have changed there.

Settings -> General -> What's Playing Screen -> Set WPS Context Plugin

EDIT: I see, you've already found it (in the other thread).  :)
