I'm really stuck - iPod

(1/1)

Hi All,

I have an iPod classic 5.5 with 60 Gig storage.

I had tried to sinatll Rockbox on this unit via MacOS and it just didn't work - got error on install that I can't remember.

When I reformatted the iPod I have a sneaking suspicion I may have done something to the boot partition.

Connecting it to a Mac now shows the iPod on the desktop but when running Rockbox I ether get a message that I don't have permission to access or that this "Might not be an iPod".

I have tried under Windows and iTunes and get similar messages. I can't actually get iTunes in either Windows 11 or MacOS to restore the unit as it gives me error messages.

I really want to recover this unit and install RockBox.

Is there an easy way to restore the boot partition?

Should be able to reboot into disk mode and restore from there:
