Rockbox Bootloader screen, Utility says "no bootloader installed"

I have had an odd issue with my iPod Gen 6 160 GB. I had installed Rockbox, all was fine, and now I have swapped to a new hard drive using SD cards, and everything has gone sideways.

I can sometimes install both the bootloader AND the firmware, but no matter what, when I reset the ipod, it goes to the bootloader screen. I can't seem to boot into the Rockbox firmware.

Is there something I'm missing? I am happy to give extra details to help clear this up.
