I don´t mean the jumper. Jumper needs do be bent a little to fit under the battery and it needs to remain jumpered for correct operation.
I mean the little knob on the CF/IDE adapter on the left side where the positioning pin of the HDD is. This knob is on both sides of the adapter and collides with the bespoken postioning pin on the left side.

One other solution could be the formatting with a partitioning tool, to write all needed data to the partiion. I´ve read some posts on where WIN/LINUX partioning wouldn´t work. I´ve used EaseUS Partition Master....
