HOW TO ADD MUSIC TO IPOD

(1/1)

DAVEYS:
I HAVE (AFTER ABOUT 8 HOURS), MANAGED TO LOAD ROCKBOX ONTO MY IPOD CLASSIC GEN 6.
I HAVE CREATED THE DATABASE WITH EHE MUSIC THAT WAS ON THE IPOD & HAD BEEN SOURCED THROUGH ITUNES (AROUND 18,000 SONGS).

I HAVE TRIED TO ADDING MORE CD'S TO THE IPOD. I FIGURED THE EASIEST WAY TO DO THIS WOULD BE TO ADD THE CD'S TO ITUNES FILES (THAT WAY THE ALBUM, ARTWORK, ARTIST & TRACKS WILL ALL BE NAMED CORRECTLY). SHUT DOWN ITUNES, THEN DRAG THE MUSIC TO THE IPOD FROM THE ITUNES MUSIC FOLDER ON THE COMPUTER.

I ASSUMED YOU WOULD (DRAG & DROP) OR (COPY & PASTE) THESE NEW FOLDERS (ONE FOR EACH ALBUM) INTO THE IPOD FOLDER (DATABASE?). I DID THIS, THE FILES APPEARED TO COPY. HOWEVER THEY DO NOT APPEAR ON THE IPOD DATABASE. I TRIED REPEATING THE OPERATION, BUT OPENING THE FOLDERS FIRST & DRAGGING & DROPPING THE GROUPS OF TRACKS ACROSS. AGAIN THEY APPEARED TO COPY - BUT DO NOT APPEAR ON THE IPOD DATABASE.

CAN ANYONE LET ME KNOW WHERE I AM GOING WRONG?

bluebrother:
Your caps lock is broken. Stop screaming.

saratoga:
Drag and drop the files from your PC. Disconnect USB and then in rockbox browse to the folder where you dropped the files and select the one you want to play.

philden:
Did you update the database on your iPod? This does not happen automatically.
