What to do when Rockbox freezes
« on: July 24, 2006, 11:49:18 AM »
Hi,

Rockbox freezes on me incredibly rarely (once a month at most), usually though it's before I have to commute to/from work.

Apart from pressing the reset button with a paperclip or something, I was wondering if there is another way to reset Rockbox (usually because I don't have a paperclip on me).

Maybe I should just carry one...

Thanks

Richard

Actually, I do, in my case and my car ...

I first try pressing the play button (on the side)--that sometimes does the trick.

sometimes, depending on the error, (i think) you can press rec+play but that rarley works for me. another thing is if you have to reset your player when it turns off turn hold on and then press play. a hold screen will pop up then when that turns off take hold off wait a few seconds and then press play again. this is to ensure that rockbox starts and not the original iriver firmware. just  FYI
