Is it a 6th Gen iPod? These are limited to 128GB with the Apple OS. You should be able to use the full 1TB with Rockbox, but you'd need to manually format the memory and then install Rockbox. You will not be able to initialize the iPod in iTunes or use the Apple firmware.

I have a 6.5 gen iPod that I'm going to
have
to upgrade due to a close-to-failure drive. If I don't boot to Rockbox for any given reason, and try to use that drive via iPodOS, will anything break? Are there any specific limits?
