3.15 iRiver IHP120 'Building Database' Unit Turns Off Crashes?

I just used to RB Utility to load 3.15 on said unit.  I have ran RB on it for over a decade with no problems.   After Building Database runs for a few minutes it bombs out and the unit appears to turn off.  How can I fix this?
