Sansa E280v2 shuts down when connected to PC

Version: cc2r364926-220

When I connect to a PC to copy files over, the unit shits down with 30-45 seconds - NOT what I have it set for.
When I tap the enter button, this is what happens, a white screen with this error:

FSR 0xf7
(domain 15 fault 7)
pc: 60000092
sp: 300008d8

ANY ideas?
I have to pop out the SDCard to copy to that and boot into the original firmware to copy internally.
