Rockbox ipod 1st gen Could not open Ipod:permission denied

I ran as administrator and factory reset of the pod) i formatted the ipod and it is ticked as a drive on itunes
had it installed before but reverted to base ipod software after a full charge

should add that the error only happens for bootloader

I can see the installation failing but not why -- have you (1) completely closed Itunes and (2) do you have an Antivirus solution running that might interfere with the installation?

Someone else mentioned a similar problem. Can anyone replicate? Maybe some windows update broke something?

Turns out this is actually an issue in Rockbox Utility: the Ipod disk access is accidentially initialized twice. On Windows this breaks, all other systems just behave as expected.
