RockBox bootloader

I'm using an iPod Classic.
It would be nice if the iPod OS would load by default, since I basically use iTunes for syncing.
Does the RockBox bootloader offer an option to select the default loaded OS?
If possible I'd like to change this setting non-destructively, so I'd like to edit the configuration file and have the bootloader load it instead of building it myself.
If this method is not available, then I will make a feature request to do so.

On most devices the decision to boot rockbox or the OF us made as early as possible and so the disk storage is not yet available, so it has to be compiled into the binary. If you want to do that you can change the button logic in bootloader/ipod6g to boot the OF by default.

Feature Requests don't work like that.

Rockbox is made by people interested in working on it. You either need to convince someone to do it (but why would someone working on Rockbox want to boot a non-Rockbox system by default?), or do it yourself.

Of course making a feature request doesn't guarantee anyone will work on it, but if you basically have to write a patch (or get someone else to do so) before making a feature request, what's the point? I don't think the bar should be so high just for an idea/suggestion.

That said, the forums are a much better place to get exposure for any new ideas simply because more people are likely to see it.
