best 2021 upgrade for Iriver iHP-120?

The iHP-120 is my favorite. I recently got into buying up old MP3 players flash modding them and getting them into working order. From what I can tell the original firmware doesn't recognize any type of adapter. but if you have the 1.8 Toshiba to CF adapter along with a DigiGear (the black one) CF->SD adapter. you should be good to go, just did it last month. The red Qumox adapters don't work.

I'd be interested to know if the default firmware works with any other type of adapters, that way you always have a backup option.
