Hi! I just joined this forum and I'm really happy to be a part of this community.
Last night, I tried installing rockbox on my custom iPod so that I could play FLACs on it. I got it installed perfectly the first time, but I was having trouble playing my FLACs, so I restored it back to factory settings. Because that iPod is probably one of my most valuable possessions, I decided to try installing rockbox on a stock iPod video I had lying around. I tried installing it, and it essentially bricked it. First, I tried installing it and it gave me a black screen with the error ""No Partition found. Insert USB cable to fix it.". I plugged in the USB cable (after giving up that night and coming back to it in the morning), and now I have some error message that starts with *PANIC* (hilariously). My computer won't even recognize it, so I'm pretty sure it's cooked.
That being said, I don't want to give up on installing Rockbox. I really just want my music in the highest quality possible in a lossless format! I thought about buying music off the iTunes store, but it's technically a lower quality than ALAC or FLAC files, not to mention iTunes sometimes censors music, so what's the point?
Any help is greatly appreciated! I apologize if this is a dumb question, I just haven't the foggiest idea of what I'm doing, and I could really use the help!
Thanks!
