I'm using rockbox on an 4th generation iPod (Greyscale)
Explanation of my problem:I am unable to shutdown rockbox by long pressing the play button on the clickwheel as instructed in the manual.
Shutdown/standby on the original apple firmware works perfectly,
so i suspect it should not be an issue with the button on the clickwheel itself.
I'm using Rockbox version: 2d85c72151-201030
I also reported this problem on the bugtracker
https://www.rockbox.org/tracker/task/13253A similar question was asked in 2009 on this forum
I suspect that my case is not a hardware failure.
Forum thread from 2009:
https://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,22715.msg156002.html#msg156002Edit: 31/10/2020:
I have also tried to make a shortcut to shutdown the iPod, by creating the Shortcuts.txt file in the .rockbox directory.
As a workaround.
The contents of this file are:
[Shortcut]
type: shutdown
name: Shutdown iPod
This does create a shortcut.
However when i use the shortcut i created, the ipod displays the message Battery: Charging
Without being connected to a wall outlet or a computer
This could be because i suspect my ipod 4G has a hardware problem, the official firmware also thinks the iPod is still charging.
However disk mode does not exhibit this problem.
