Bought a used iPod Mini 2nd

I'm on a Mac but got it to format in Fat32 with my dad's Windows computer.

Using the RockBox utility I get this:

Could not open iPod: Permission Denied

I tried to manual install it, but whenever I unzip the file it shows nothing. I tried to unzip it again directly to the iPod and when it finished, it showed nothing.

I got it to install by going into terminal and using this: sudo /Applications/RockboxUtility.app/Contents/MacOS/RockboxUtility

But now I only have 3 folders in the iPod: Calendars, Contacts, Notes

Should I make a new folder for the MP3s?

Where do I install themes?

Doesn't sound like you have Rockbox installed on it at all, if there's no .rockbox folder.  Unless you just can't see it in windows becuase it starts with a 'dot' and you have windows set to not show system or hidden folders.

Install themes by just copying the .rockbox folder in them to the player, so it merges with the folder that ought to already be on there, assuming you actually do have rockbox installed.

They are. You can ignore those folders if you want to. Rockbox doesn't care about it.

macOS hides folder starting with a dot, so .rockbox not showing doesn't indicate anything. Ask Google on how to show hidden files.

As for themes Rockbox Utility can install them. Is there a problem with that?
