Quote from: InvictusMB on March 26, 2025, 03:21:34 PMYes, I'm trying to revert native Rockbox installation back to stock then to hosted mode. I've observed that I boot into Hiby more often because of working Bluetooth.Quote from: dconrad on March 26, 2025, 02:07:17 PMThe stock update file does not write the bootloader by default. But we can simply mark it to be updated and then run the stock updater. Ah, that explains a lot. I'm not sure the stock updater actually does anything right now. The way I remember it working was rebooting and showing the progress bar while applying the update. If I boot into Hiby and run an update it almost immediately reboots into Rockbox and does nothing.Alright, give this file a shot. Put it on the SD card named "update.upt" and then, with the device off, hold VolUp + Power, and then select "Aigo Recovery". It should run the updater then and you'll be working with a totally stock player. (fingers crossed for no weirdness)

I know the above conversation was about restoring a V1.5 H2, but did you do something to the 1.5 bootloader to come up with that updater above? (EDIT: I guess this is just a modified 1.5 update file using a script) Is there some way to get a V2.0 device working with the stock bootloader as well? I tried the one for V2.0 and I got bricked, so I had to use 'jztool' to restore the Rockbox bootloader.
Yeah, we can do that I think... I'll see if I can get one to you after work. I think I will try and see if we can just get all the "uninstall" update files up on the downloads page, or at least linked in a google drive folder somewhere.

I did a native install before I've figured out Rockbox recovery, jztool and other stuff and lost my stock bootloader this way.
@dconrad that would be great!I wonder if a v2.0 flash image backup can be bundled with the stock bootloader, so that we have a fake update file that can allow a full restore to stock. I remember doing this with Android backup images years ago when I was developing a tool for custom ROMs, though I don’t know if the same idea can be applied here.

I just want to make sure, because a Hifiwalker H2 V2.0 is different from an Aigo Eros Q V2.0!Well, I went through the process of manually creating an update file... You can try it here at your own risk. LinkPut the file on the SD card as "update.upt", and then, with the player off, do the following:Hold VolUp + PowerRun "Aigo Recovery"The device should update and then reboot into the original firmwarePlease let me know how it goes!
That might actually be something that got fixed in the last few days - here's the patch - https://git.rockbox.org/cgit/rockbox.git/commit/?id=68c3fbe263a30fefaf46f5bba655810ae26584f2.If you're running a build from before that, you might want to update to the latest (or 4.0) and see if it's fixed.

The problem happens with both a manual install of .rockbox as well as with Rockbox Utility. Are the necessary files for these devices in the latest update?

Are you using the build for the Hosted Port then? Try grabbing it from this link: https://download.rockbox.org/daily/aigoerosq/rockbox-aigoerosq-20250402.zipOtherwise, we can dig into what's going wrong, but it's usually that mixup.
