Is there a way to enable the "Battery" option in settings for the Sansa E200 v1?

Instead of replacing the battery with a newer one, I decided to solder a battery holder that takes AAA batteries to my v1 Sansa E200. I wanted to adjust the battery capacity and disable charging via USB in order to prevent any damage to my batteries but it looks like the Battery settings were omitted for this particular player.

Unless you're comfortable hacking the power management code for your device, probably easier to use the intended lithium ion battery type.

In time. For now I'll continue removing the batteries whenever I have to connect it to a computer.

I ran the battery benchmark on battery holders for 3 AAA and 3 AA sets of batteries.

3 AAA 800 mAh Eneloops: Ran for ~29 hours.
3 AA   1900 mAh Ladda: Ran for ~64 hours.
