Strange problem after putting a ton of albums on ipod.
« on: August 14, 2020, 02:32:55 PM »
I recently added hundreds of albums to my Ipod. Since doing so Rockbox is acting weird.
Randomly songs will disappear or they will be listed in the wrong folders. These songs will not play.
It generally takes 10+ resets before it works correctly.
Everything is listed correctly once plugged into the computer.
Does Rockbox have a limitation on the amount of songs?
Is there something I can do to fix this?

Ipod Classic version 6.

It worked perfect for a year before I loaded it with a ton of new albums.
Now sometimes it won't boot up just says "scanning disc" or it will load and then songs will be in the incorrect folders and they won't play.
When you attempt to click one it just says something similar to 0000000000000000000000??????????????????

Yet all of the files will play from my computer when plugged in.

Do I just have too many songs on it?

As I have read to add new music its best to boot up with Apple OS, add files and switch back to Rockbox. Try it out...

I thought that was only necessary with flash-modded ipods, not if you still use the hard-drive?

Edit - I'd try just reinstalling the rockbox folder.  Maybe the rockbox installation itself has gotten corrupted somehow?  Or it's the usual 'failing hard drive' problem?
