Ipod Video 5th Gen Hard Drive usage

Hi everyone! I own an iPod Video 5th Gen with Rockbox on it. I noticed that when using Rockbox the iPod hard drive is much more noisy than it was when I used to use OF. I also noticed that there are more "clicking" sounds than there were before, and I suppose that's because Rockbox needs to access the disk more often than OF. Has anyone ever experienced a considerable shortening of the disk's life because of that?
