Clip Zip crashing on 3.15
« on: February 13, 2020, 03:53:10 AM »
It's been a while since I last used my Clip Zip, maybe a year, but I last had it on version 3.14 and it ran fine.
Yesterday I upgraded it to RB 3.15 and applied parametric EQ, but I've had the following errors, in order, usually after skipping a few tracks.

1. While playing music from my 64gb microSD, I think I pressed a button to skip track:

Code: [Select]
Data abort at 30034e8
FSR 0x8
(domain 0, fault 8)
address 0x850a51d4
pc:30034e8c sp:300a7b

2. Again while playing music from my microSD, I think I pressed a button to skip track:

Code: [Select]
Data abort at 3002fc9
FSR 0x8
(domain 0, fault 8)
address 0xa59f636c
pc:3002fc90 sp:300a7b

3. Device hung at boot screen. After forcing a reboot, I disabled EQ since I'd never used it in the past, and figured it could be the cause.

4. While playing music from microSD, again probably tried to skip a track:

Code: [Select]
Prefetch abort at fff
FSR 0xe
(domain 0, fault 14)
pc:fffffffe sp:300a7c

For further info, I flashed 3.15 with the utility, and the bootloader was based on the last tested firmware.
I've also had issued with the microSD in the past - with RB 3.13, there were some voltage scaling issues which caused hangs, but this was resolved by the release of 3.14, and again, I wasn't having issues the last time I used the device. It could be relevant that I haven't turned on and used the player in probably over a year? Maybe the data on the microSD is corrupted?

Would appreciate some insight, thanks.

Edit: I can't seem to reproduce this behaviour this morning even though it happened every time and within minutes before.. I don't understand what's changed? I guess it solved itself..?

If it happens again could you try the latest dev version? that way I can look up the instruction for the error...

Thanks, I absolutely will come back if it occurs again.
