Currently re-encoding my ipod6g flac library (30830 tracks) from mp3 lame vbr v0 to v2 because my 500gb msata disk is full and there is no room to grow(!).

My music library is a mix of mp3 copied with rsync and the flac transcoded with ffmpeg as mentioned above.

I'd love for there to be a high capacity disk option that didn't have the high power (current?) draw of the msata drive or the corruption of SD cards.

I guess I'll be keeping an eye out for a cheap 1T msata disk on eBay in the near future...

Why not encode to an even lower bitrate using aac or opus? Qaac sounds fantastic even at ~128kbps (V63) imho. With Opus you might go even lower.
