SD boot on Clip+

Hi all,

I've read that it's possible to boot a clip+ from SD card but I didn't understand how to do it. At the moment I'm on the latest dev build (f45db55). I'd really appreciate a simple guide to make my clip+ boot from SD.

use the latest bootloader (should be installed by rbutil already ) and latest dev version of firmware https://build.rockbox.org/


on your sd card copy contents of rockbox zip to root of sdcard
create a file rockbox_main.clip+ on root of sd card with a single / save it
reboot

so sdcard should have a folder /rockbox and a file rockbox_main.clip+
(and whatever else you put on there....)

Thanks Bilgus for your answer.

It seems that first check for ./rockbox on external SD than on clip+ internal, so I can keep a ./rockbox on internal just in case the one on external SD is corrupted. Am i right ?
