Sandisk Sansa clip + V1
« on: November 22, 2019, 11:57:44 AM »
Do the clip+ only have the AS3525v2 inside or are there also V1 versions buit in the clip+. It seems to me that my clip plus has a V1 inside?

The Clip V1, Clip V2 and Clip+ are 3 distinct MP3 players.  The Clip+ uses an AS3525v2 SOC.

There is more info about the hardware on the wiki.

Thank you for your answer. Could it be possible that the Sandisk Sansa clip plus (the first publications of the clip plus maybe) also uses an v1 processor?! Or has the clup plus only the v2 processor inside?

Why do you ask? and what makes you think it is a v1?

Thank you. While installing Rockbox with the Rockbox utility, the program does not accept the OF 01.02.18. There was always a error message with some notes the player uses v1. Finally I installed Rockbox with the 01.02.16 firmware.  In addition to that the battery does not last very long. That is the reason why I thought the player could use the v1 processor.

That means you selected Clip V1 when installing the first time. Since you have a CLip+, the install failed and the installer pointed out that you had your devices mixed up.  Then you selected the right device the second time and it worked.

I have several Sansa clip+ but this was the first time rockbox utility does not accept the firmware 01.02.18. I tried it several times - there was always an error. Than I tried Rockbox Utility 3.14, the same problems. I always chose clip+ but an error reports a v1 mistake when the OF was required. At least I used 01.02.16 that works. Very strange because I never had this problem before although I used Rockbox utility very often?!

That means that you've selected the wrong player type.  Select the correct one and it will not report a mismatch between the firmware file and the installation target.
