HP 20gb 4th Gen Ipod iFlash & Rockbox Max Capacity
« on: November 18, 2019, 08:23:32 PM »
Hi, guys my aunt just gave me her old HP 4th gen 20gb ipod I do want to fix it up as it is it needs a new battery. I do have a question I want to get an iFlash kit for it what is the max size of card that will work for it? I do want to Rockbox it and would really like to put a 512gb card in it. I have no plans of using the iPod OS but would like to know if anyone here has done what I would like to do with a 4th generation iPod.

There is no max capacity in rockbox, but I'm not sure how well those adapters will work with the rockbox ata driver on the 4th gen.

Thanks for the reply. I did contact the iFlash guys and they recommended me 128gb so I do assume it should work fine... right? Well, I will find out one way or another. There were images of the 4th gen iPods with over 500gb in them, it looked like it was the photo one with a color screen. They just were not using Rockbox OS but I will report back on how it goes if no one else for sure knows.
