ipod classic 6th gen. 2000mah battery. can only set max capacity to 1000mah
« on: November 05, 2019, 08:49:50 AM »
Hi

In Settings > General Settings > System > Battery > Battery Capacity the maximum setting is 1000mAh.
How do I increase the maximum setting to something other than 1000mAh.

Thanking you for any and all help.

https://git.rockbox.org/?p=rockbox.git;a=blob;f=firmware/export/config/ipod6g.h;h=b4be39d935600912d4c094c68a3089ef38aa8282;hb=3d6d90382ea368135544ebae875de99df73986ee#l142

Change the max value here, recompile.

That value is only used for runtime estimation though.

Hi

Thanks for that.

So can I assume that the 2000mAh battery will be charged to it's max capacity regardless of this setting?

Assuming it actually is a 2000mAh battery, yes.

I realise it makes no practical difference, other than changing the already-probably-wildly-inaccurate calculation about remaining run-time.  But rather than recompiling rockbox entirely, to achieve that, very questionable, improvement in accuracy for that figure, could one not just set the battery life in the fixed.cfg file?

https://www.rockbox.org/wiki/CustomConfigFile

That file allegedly allows values from 1500-3200
