ipod classic 6th gen. 2000mah battery. can only set max capacity to 1000mah

In Settings > General Settings > System > Battery > Battery Capacity the maximum setting is 1000mAh.
How do I increase the maximum setting to something other than 1000mAh.

Change the max value here, recompile.

That value is only used for runtime estimation though.

So can I assume that the 2000mAh battery will be charged to it's max capacity regardless of this setting?

Assuming it actually is a 2000mAh battery, yes.
