ROCKbox Rules!

Recently I got this iPod classic 7Th gen 160. Synced to ITunes blah, blah, blah. One day while browsing in my car, the iPod says that a sync is required. Have to reload all my music. Few days later it crashes again. Reload again. Every time I try to play a song, it was rebooting. Reinstalled...same problem. I was ready to take the $100  loss on the iPod and move on. Man I was pissed too.

Was ready to buy a iPod touch, when somehow I found your website. Installed ROCKbox onto the IPod Classic, loaded thousands of songs, and wow it works like a champ. I am not that tech savvy, but it was very easy to install, and once I got the fonts up to 29, I was blown away. Not to mention the ultra high fidelity it produces with your graphic eq. I always wondered why Apple was so negligent on not having a proper eq nor upgrading their firmware. I'm still learning about the ROCKbox eq, but the range blows me away. Look forward to discovering more faucets.

The IPod classic is like a Cadillac of music players. Now it feels like it got a RR engine put into it.

Hello rps, great, that Rockbox brought new life to your iPod, but I hope the problems you described don't come from a dying hard drive. I have two 7th gen iPods which had syncing and connecting problems due to a failing hard drive.
