Gap between songs

Is there a way to eliminate the 2 second gap between songs?  It's especially noticeable on live recordings.

Surely the 2-second gap thing is a result of ripping the tracks wrongly in the first place?  I don't think that's Rockbox's fault.   I dimly remember that when ripping wavs from cd you could maybe use some utility like wavtrim to delete them if you'd accidentally introduced them by setting the cd-rip parameters wrongly - though not sure whether or not you can do that once they've been ripped to compressed form.

Yup, just checked and wavtrim only removes the gaps from wavs, maybe something else can clean up compressed tracks.  But mainly it's a matter of remembering to tell the cdripping program to not put those gaps in there.

There is no way to remove silence that is encoded into files, but if you don't encode silence, none will be added.  The reason there is no way to remove it is that the files are streamed from disk and decoded in real-time, so there is no way to look ahead and remove silence. 

FWIW, if you have CDs with silent transitions between tracks, lots of software (e.g. foobar) can remove them while encoding to MP3/etc.
