Ipod Mini gen 1 refuses to read playlists
MattHemm:
Up until now I've had 0 issues with playlists on my iPod mini gen 1, but today when I went to the playlist catalog, I given the "No Files" message. When I check in the file directory both on my PC and iPod, the playlist files are shown there, but on my iPod they aren't visible unless I set the file browser off of "Supported". I've tried deleting and transfering a few times now, I've also tried changing to a .M3U8 file extension. I've pressed reset playlist catalogue directory many time to no avail, and am unable to play playlists from the file directory. Everything else on the device appears to work as normal. I'm using MusicBee to do file transfers, to my iPod mini gen 1 with a 32gb compact flash card installed. the only thing I haven't tried so far is re-installing Rockbox, but I'd like to avoid that if possible.

Do the paths listed in the playlist point to files that still exist on your ipod? Generally the reason playlists fail is that the playlist has been moved relative to the files and now points to the wrong location.
MattHemm:
I don't think that's the problem. I've had playlists in the past that have songs that I no longer have on my iPod, and they simply play a different song when I pick said removed song. My problem is that my iPod won't even recognize the playlist files as playlists in the first place. Here's a screengrab of the playlist file and the corresponding file in the /music directory on my iPod.

What do you mean by 'the file directory'? Also not sure what you mean by 'set the file browser off of "Supported" '
On my ipod it works correctly if the playlist files are in the (top level of the) "playlists" directory. (I export them from media monkey with a script and then copy them with windows robocopy to the ipod).
The only difference I see with the content of your playlists is that mine all start with ".." but I don't think that's relevant if your problem is you can't "see" the playlists at all on the player.

I was talking about the directory that one would find playlist files. (\Playlists)

The file browser built into Rockbox is by default set to "supported" meaning it will only show file types that are supported(that it can read). I had to switch to "All" which make all types of files visible, indicating that for some reason, Rockbox doesn't recognize my playlist files as playlist files.
