Hi,

The Rockbox Cowon d2 simulator shows 10 "filters":  high shelf, low shelf and 8 peak filters.
The parametric equalizer fine tuning works great. On my Cowon d2/d2+  there are only 5 filters to adjust...
Is this due to the rockbox version i'm using or is 5 the max on Cowon d2?

Info on how to get a few more would be great.

I don't have a cowon d2 myself just the agptek rocker and sony nwz e353. Both have the 10 band equalizer. I am using the latest dev builds for those. What build are you using, you might be able to get the 10 band equalizer if you get the latest dev build. If that doesn't work, it probably has to be added or enabled to the source code.

Wats the essential part? for getting more "filters" the (.rockbox) folder extraxted on sd card or the part installed on the player? or both!

I looked up your mp3 player and I think you are on the latest firmware 2.59 for cowon D2. Not sure though. As for rockbox firmware, i believe that is what will determine getting the extra filters and other stuff. I recommend copying the .rockbox folder that is in your cowon D2 in case you want to revert back to it (that is how it works right?) and copy the latest dev rockbox build (.rockbox folder) to your sd card and see what happens.

did it ...the latest dev build...only (.rockbox) folder needed.

Only the layout is messed up a bit... far to large bars..so txt is far apart..have not fixed that yet.

layout figured out and good looking like it was before.....

but when playing FLAC file i get *PANIC* dc_writeback_callback () - Could not write sector 1 (error -1)

bt end                                              thats keeps repeating with every retry... also when trying to scan..

look into it tomorow....
i got everything backed up so no problem

Did you get the 10 band equalizer from updating to latest rockbox build?

i used rockbox utility 1.4
Not selected Bootloader and game files
"in the field Rockbox version to install" it sais: Development Version (Revision c70e40f)

If i can find a better (older) version without the Panic error i will just manualy extract the .rockbox folder onto the sd card
Thats the same thing....if you dont install bootloader along with it
Have to read about the Panic error and find better version.
BTW I've tried all this on a d2+   version 2.13 ( yes i got more Cowons)

forgot to mention...when u start Rockbox utility, u have to select "show disabled targets" otherwise Cowon d2 is not in the list

I'd rather try and fix the panic is it just a particular FLAC file that causes the panic or any FLAC file?
If the former have you tried leaving the file on the drive and copying the same file again to see if it
still fails to rule out a bad sector in your drive?

Also the problem is most likely there in the old version there just wasn't a panic placed to catch it then.

panic on every file  and panic now shortly after booting. cant do nothing
FLAC files all the SAME and perfectly working on older versions of RB (90GB worth of it)

As soon i copy my older rockbox version from 2012 back again, everything works fine
also tried rockbox-cowond2-20181225 same panic

Its got to be the RB version for sure... read about panic issue. But dont know which relative "old" version with 10 band EQ without panic is out there.

just now been trying to replace some files (copy/paste) from old RB to new RB folder and see what it does....trial and error...lets see  if you can point me to a place where to get more RB versions, that would be nice
