Hi, I am experiencing an issue/bug on my SanDisk Sansa Clip+, which I can describe as follows:
For some Opus files, Rockbox starts playing at 2 or 3 seconds in or else when the song does start at 0 seconds, it sometimes jumps ahead 4 or 5 seconds in, producing an annoying glitch at the start of the affected tracks. This is completely repeatable for the affected tracks and happens every time I play them.
Out of about 30 Opus songs I have placed on my clip, around 10 are affected.
Hardware: SanDisk Sansa Clip+
Rockbox Version: Tested on version 3.14 stable and on the development version (same issue with both versions).
The Opus files were generated as follows:
Debian 9
Opus tools 0.2 / libopus 1.3
opusenc --bitrate 160 in.flac out.opus
These opus files play fine on my Samsung Galaxy S7 phone and also on my PC. I have tested the original FLAC files (flac -t) so I know they are ok and not corrupted etc. When I convert the FLAC files to Vorbis they play perfectly on the clip+ so I know the issue must be something to do with how Rockbox is processing the Opus files. The issue occurs when the Opus files are contained as .opus or .ogg.
Has anyone else experienced a similar or know of an open bug report that may be helping with a fix? Hopefully this is something the devs can take a look at or confirm (it should be easy to repeat with a few random music files), since Opus is becoming a more prominent codec.
Thanks,
djme.
