Ipod Mini G2 with CF>SD addapter freezing.

Hi, I'm trying to get rockbox working on a gen 2 ipod mini using a 128GB sd card in a CF to SD adapter. It's working and I was able to load music but occasionally it will just freeze, sometimes it will freeze with no error, or I will get a panic error, or a could not write error.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Same issue here, but this is a problem of the adapter (is it maybe an iFlash adapter?).

The iPod Mini doesn't need nor can it use an iFlash adapter. Its connector is a simple CF/Microdrive connector.

The error sounds more like either a bad combination of adapter and SD card, or one or the other could be the culprit.

I use a Samsung YH820 (comparable with iPod Mini Gen1) with CF->SD adapter and 128GB SD card. I player often hangs when storing large amounts of data on it (i.e. several albums of mp3 music). Interestingly the rockbox usb mode resumes it's work after a few minutes, whereas Samsung's bootloader USB mode hangs indefinitely (neither reporting an error on the device nor in windows).

I never had any problems when playing songs or doing whatever rockbox allows me to do. The issue is probably also present with read access, but it seems much less likely. The only situation I got freezes were file system checks.

I had a 64GB card in use before with the same adapter and player and can't remember any problems, so it might be the adapter-card combination. Maybe try a different card if you have one at hand.

I put a 64GB Toshiba Exceria microSDXC with its SD adapter in it and Rockbox freezes regularly. OF works fine.

Heh, that's new to me! I didn't know he had made an SD-CF adapter; I hadn't been on his site for a while! I might pick up a couple to try them out!
