setting some playlists as "shuffle" and others as "don't shuffle"?
« on: October 30, 2018, 07:40:02 PM »
Noob question. It didn't seem relevant in any of the other forums, so I'm posting it here. If it would go better somewhere else, please let me know!

I have just Rockboxed my Sansa Clip+ and have referred to the relevant Rockbox manual.

I'm trying to configure my player so that I can use it on long car journeys without fiddling with it. I'd therefore like to have two kinds of playlist:

- playlists that don't get shuffled, e.g. if I want to play Beethoven's 7th symphony, I don't want all the individual movements getting reordered

- playlists that do get shuffled, e.g. collections of assorted tracks that I like

Is there a way to do this? I'm expecting the answer is "no", because it looks as though playlist files are basically text files containing ordered lists of pathnames, whereas shuffle settings are more general.

But if the answer is yes, I'd be grateful if someone could tell me how to do it!

Thanks in advance!
