PINETAB port
« on: May 17, 2020, 08:05:04 AM »
https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/PineTab

I would love to read Rockbox OS is available for PineTab and of course PinePhone and future PineMini and or PineBox that are now in discussion with the same SoC.

Not only now, but also when in the future this devices will achieve next versions, being old ones excellent devices as music players.

It would make more sense to just build the SDL app for this device, as it runs various Linux distros already.

deeice on the #zipit irc channel on freenode.org has ported rockbox as a app onto a busybox/linux embedded system that running on the zipit2 handheld little computer. i would use there work as a starting point. download a deeice zipit image for code unless the rockbox code is available separately. its also a package for the openwrt distro for the zipit that mozzwald maintains. rockbox is not as snappy as it is on dedcated hardware but maybe that old zipit hardware cpu and not being run native? I guess on faster hardware maybe rockbox as a app is faster.

I believe the hardware almost the same as Pinephone,so try the instrcutions here:-
https://forums.rockbox.org/index.php/topic,53578.0.html

Then its fairly easy to package as a .deb file so it appears on the desktop, only thing you might need to play with is the screen dimensions.
