Flac or other codec bit & sample rate

I am new with Rockbox and would like to install it in SanDisk Sansa to play Flac or Wav files. Is the bit and sample rate is limited by the Sansa? I like to play at 24bits and maybe 192mhz does Rockbox firmware automatically downsample in order to play on Sansa. Basically, could the Sansa can become Hi. Res. player? or hardware is the limiting factor?

Everything will be converted to 44.1k/48k and 16 bit output.
