Really.  All the specs I have seen say 8 hours.  If it is really nearer 35 then I would have spent the extra on the X3 over the Rocker which is still in waiting for the day my beloved Clip+ finally bites the dust.  Come that day I will probably wait and see how the Rocker battery life works out in practise over a normal working day, maybe with a lunchtime recharge.  Usually play around 5 hours of music over 8 hours (paused for 3 hours).

Duceboia:
Rocker battery for me lasts 5/6'hours.
X3 lasts much longer. I've charged on sunday, played every afternoon (being at work 06:00-14:00'that week) the next sunday battery were drained.obviously not heavy display use, only player on, resume my biiig playlist, listening.

You can't have 10h playback with Rocker(about 5h, no bluetooth), but it very little time to get full battery charge (1h). I think Rocker is a good choice with price
