puturus:
Hi everyone.
So... My sansa clip+ is almost dead (battery runs out in less than 2h) so I'm searching a new rockbox-able device to replace it.
Thought of buying the sansa again, but they stopped fabricating them, and buying from ebay doesn't convince me..
So... Could you guys help me?
The things i care about: SQ at least as my former sansa or better, battery life at least 10h (the more the better tho) and it MUST have microSD card support. Dont care about bluetooth. Don't care if touchscreen or not. Prefer a small sized one, but its ok if its medium. Price, something around 100-150 eur, would pay more if its really worth though.

So.. The possible candidates i found are the xduoo x3 and the agptek rocker. Am i missing some other options?

Any help/suggestion is much appreciated. ^^

TL;DR   a good DAP than can run rockbox, with decent battery for 150eur max.

I have Xduoo X2. UI not that great. But sound is very good. I recently bought P3000. Interface was much better but after comparing it with my old Xduoo X2, I did send it back. I paid new when came out for only $55.

I bought a "bassplay p3000" just for the moment, to have something with battery lasting some more hours than my current sansa.

Correct me if I'm wrong. The devices you mention (xduuo x2 and p3000) dont have a rockbox port, right?

I got an AGPTek Rocker, and I'm pleased with it.  The sound quality seems good; I haven't measured it or anything.

I don't think the Rocker is quite as good as the Sansa Clip+ or Clip Zip.  But that's a goddam high bar: those little powerhouses may have been the absolute pinnacle of the DAP era.  I mean seriously; what has ever been as good as a peak-era Clip?

What the Rocker most reminds me of is the Sansa Fuze+.  Form factor very similar; screen size very similar.  The Rocker has better controls than the Fuze+ did; the scrolling on the F+ was maddening.  The Rocker lacks the extra button that the Clips had, that "escaped" or swapped back to the main menu.  That's a noticeable loss for UI purposes; but doesn't really effect the functioning of the player.

Most excellent thing about the Rocker is that it seems to still be in production.  That's kind of a big deal.

I don't know anything about the Xduo.  But I think you can be reasonably confident in buying a Rocker.

I have both, the rocker V1 with sharp corners and the Xduuo x3 (the second have a rockbox port made by vortex, you can find that port at Headfi.org). for me Xduuo x3 IS Another planet... battery lasts forever, a little bigger but fantastic player with plenty of output power that manage to drive every headphone I Have tried. the  Rocker is meh, for me.
