Transferring Database

So I was wondering if I had the exact same directories on my iPod and UI Simulator on my pc, would building the database on my pc and transferring the .tcd files to my iPod be a valid way of using database on my iPod?

I tried this with my iPod mini and it worked. Even the pictureflow and playlist files work.
