Is there a "countdown" sorting option?

(1/1)

wally walters:
If I have a group of folders named, say "Album 01" to "Album 20," is there an option to have Rockbox move to Album 19 after finishing Album 20, then Album 19 after Album 18, and so on?  I thought I had seen such an option before but can't find it now.  Thanks.

Frankenpod:
Not clear what you are asking for.  Going from 20 to 19 but also going from 18 to 19 seems contradictory.

The manual 7.11 Auto-Change Directory would seem to be relevant. Maybe you'd have to fiddle around with "random folder advance configuration" in order to get it to play them in the order you want (I presume by default it just does it in alphabetical order).

wally walters:
Sorry, yes, huge typing error on my part.  I meant Album 18 after Album 19, Album 17 after Album 18, and so on down to Album 01.  I'm really just looking for a way to play the folders in reverse order.  Thanks.

csussman:
There's an option in the settings to sort directories by 'newest date'. I'm not really sure how this works, but maybe it could help.

If you copy a music folder from your computer to your mp3 player, and it contains sub-folders, would they be copied in alphabetical order making the alphabetical order correspond directly to the date order?

If so, when you sort the directories by newest date it should put them in reverse alphabetical order. Then if you play them using Auto-Change Directory it should play them all in the reverse order.

Duceboia:
Bein me: I copy the albums on player (or SD), then I drag the same albums (the SAME FOLDER) on a Foobar2000 playlist
arranging the albums to my liking, then via fb2k I save the m3u8 playlist to the player.
