I would like to say that i am honestly very surprised with my experience of Rockbox on my Ipod Classic 6th Gen. I was expecting it to be.. well... unusable and unstable as hell by what the compatibility lists and everything has said, but i am instead very impressed with the stability of it, and the ease of installation. The only hard part of the installation was installing the software required to get the bootloader onto the Ipod, which i will blame on the fact that i was using linux, and was easily fixed by just building the software from the repo, which was easier than i expected. Also i have noticed that im some places they say that this model of Ipod with rockbox doesent support dual booting, however ive noticed dual booting rockbox and the original firmware works just fine, so other than the fact that the bootloader cannot be installed via the standard utility, i have noticed nothing that should put it not in the stable section. Also im just wondering if i am able to delete the Ipod_Control folder or whatever its called and have rockbox still function (im fine with removing the original firmware for more of those sweet extra bytes to store more musics).
So to finish off, I thank the developers who have made rockbox, as it is a very stable and usable replacement for the stock firmware that is still fast and responsive that means i dont have to use horrid apple software. Also i kinda like the hdd randomly spinning up for a few seconds every now and then, it makes it feel more... unique, compared to any modern music players on things like phones.
