agptek rocker
« on: May 31, 2018, 07:49:23 AM »
Hey, I was wondering if this was the right place to make this topic... Basically my clip+'s internal flash took went ghost so it's time for a new player. I found a refurbished clip+ and a agptek rocker v2 for about the same price. My question is how good is the rockbox port for the rocker? All I really need is replaygain and the car adapter setting. If anyone has used it and could confirm it has these two features at least, I might end up buying the rocker instead unless anyone has any issues they wanted to let me know about with it.

I just got the device and am loving it so far, my only issue is that the car adapter mode does not necessarily work for powering on the device. It will boot into the standard firmware and go into usb mode. A work around is to turn the device on first, boot into rockbox and hold select while I turn the vehicle on. I want to look through the patch source to see if there is a way this can be fixed but my knowledge is a little limited and it kind of seems like something hard coded into the device considering it bypasses the script to choose your firmware.

Yes, this is intended bootloader behavior from the days before usb mass storage was supported. It can be changed but honestly I don't have time.

I'm assuming then youd have to write a whole new boot loader, hey? I definitely don't blame you.
