AGPTEK Rocker v1 or v2 and precompiled build?

(1/1)

Milardo:
Does the new port by wodz for agptek rocker work for both the original version and the v2 versions? Can someone who has compiled it please leave a link to the rockbox.zip file so people can test it?

https://github.com/wodz/rockbox-wodz/tree/agptek-rocker/tools/agptek_rocker

If no one wants to upload the zip file, i can try to compile it according to the instructions.

I can't yet test it because im not sure which agptek rocker to buy v1 or v2.

kylemsguy:
Apparently the AGPTek Rocker v1 and v2 only differ in terms of case design. The software and internals are the same, so you can't go wrong with either.

Milardo:
Thanks for the info, I have the v2 version and rockbox is working on it.

Roboturner913:
From what I've read about the development of the player, a lot of people liked/loved the version 1, with the main complaint being that it had sharp corners. The v2 was released with a case that had rounded corners and I believe some slightly different markings on the volume buttons, as well as a newer version of firmware that fixed a couple small glitches, and the firmware was backwards compatible with the v1 since the hardware is the same.

The Benjie T6 is the same player with a different brand name and slightly different firmware but you can update it to the Agptek firmware if you want. Benjie is the OEM, Apgtek just rebrands and distributes it for the US/North American market.
