iPod 5.5g battery voltage reading
KhronX:
Kinda figured as much. That's all well and good, but it would seem i'm still stuck with this mysterious(?) voltage reading offset :-[

Yes, but voltage is the only way to assess the state of charge of a lithium ion battery without discharging it completely. There are no other parameters you can measure in real time.

KhronX:
I just hooked up a freshly-charged battery (a Lumia 620 battery, 1300mAh, charged and checked with my Turnigy Accucel6) to the iPod.
I'm measuring 4.209v on the battery terminals, and 4.206v at the "foot" of the battery connector, on the iPod's logic board (with my Keithley 2015 bench meter).
In the battery debug screens, Rockbox is claiming around 3.9v (+/-0.03v).
Something's not right...
I see that on my previous round of tests, the LTC4066 wasn't outputting the lower voltage, so the weirdness very likely is NOT a hardware issue.
Wish i had the first clue about coding - alas, i can't really do squat about that, hence appealing to you wiser folks here :-\
saratoga:
If it is broken in the apple firmware too, it is probably just a bad ADC.
KhronX:
Well fu....dge then :-\ Just my luck...
Off to hunt for a cheapo (half-busted) one then, i guess >:(
