NooB on plugin development
« on: December 14, 2017, 12:01:19 AM »
Dear expert users. sorry if this question is too basic.
Is there any windows utility that would be help me build an individual .rock plugin/app/game? So when I copy it to my iPod classic (which has RockBox installed on it) should work.

Thanks.

Hi,
I am not sure I understand your question, the plugins/app/games are always installed with rockbox. If you used Rockbox Utility to install Rockbox then the plugins were installed. If you used a development build and unzipped it to your device, they were also installed at the same time. Or are you asking how to create a new plugin ?

Thank you Saratoga.

I have setup the build environment and trying to make it all work now. I really appreciate your help.
Is there any shortcut for compiling/testing only once component instead of compiling whole solution?
E.g. If I am trying to write a new app using c, can I just compile that particular app and test it quickly using a UI Simulator on Linux itself?

Thanks again

Yes, that is the default behavior after the first time you compile the simulator.
