RockboxUtility v1.4.0 Problem
« on: December 02, 2017, 06:53:38 PM »
There is Sansa's standard firmware without radio as you can see in the link below:
https://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5224/~/removing-the-fm-radio-feature-from-the-sansa-clipzip%2Fclip%2B%2Fclip%2Ffuze-player
I checked this firmware and after installing it the radio is removed from the main menu.
(I have Sansa Clip+ player)
I tried to install Rockbox with RockboxUtility v1.4.0 and when this tool required me to choose firmware I chose the firmware I downloaded (without the radio)
And for some reason the radio appears back in the main menu

Can anyone fix this problem?

The installer probably doesn't keep the special file name required to disable the radio.  I think you can just run it again, and then after the bootloader finishes, but before you disconnect the USB cable, rename the bin file it creates in the root of the player's disk to "clppg.bin" (or whatever the name was for the firmware you downloaded from sandisk).

The name of the file was and remains clppg.bin
When I installed this firmware (non-radio) then the firmware version of the player was changed to 01.02.15 as I expected it to be.
I just have no idea why when I install Rockbox using this Utility the radio goes back

I was pretty sure it was the name of the file that determined if the radio was available, but if not, then I guess you may just have to accept that the radio will be enabled.

After searching a little, I found that someone had uploaded a zip file that included "clppg.bin" and ".rockbox" to install Rockbox without radio (both in the firmware of the Rockbox and in the sansa firmware) only by copying to the player's folder only.
The problem is that the main firmware is Sansa and the secondary firmware (which opens by holding the left key and the power key) is Rockbox
And I want to make the main firmware be Rockbox and the secondary Sansa
Can anyone help me do this???

If that file disables radio than the instructions in my first reply will disable it too.
