Can't Keep Songs When USB Unplugged

(1/3) > >>

icandy:
have a Sanza Clip Zip and just updated to 3.14.  Now when I connect and transfer an album of songs over to my microdisc, it shows they are on the disc but when I disconnect the player from the computer and go to the songs, only 3 have been transferred to the player.  Not sure if maybe my microdisc needs to be reformatted because of the firmware upgrade, I need help.  The songs that were transferred when I had 3.13 are all still there, it's just when I try putting any new stuff on, it only transfers 2 or three songs onc the player is unplugged!

saratoga:
Did you buy the sd card online, and if so are you sure it isn't counterfeit?  Usually a card that lets you write to it but doesn't retain files after a certain number of writes if counterfeit.

icandy:
it's A 64gb Sandisc micro card, been using it for 3 years with no issues.  Just before I updated to 3.14 I used it an it worked fine, so it is definitely because of the update. I'm baffled, because when I put it on the card through the Sanza Clip Zip and play it on the computer, all the files are there, but when I unplug it from the computer only about 2 or three songs remain when I check it after I disconnect the USB cable.  like about 70mb of data...

saratoga:
Sandisk cards are the most commonly counterfeited.  First verify that the card actually works in another device.  There are tools you can get online for testing if a card is real as well that write data, then read it back to see if it was really stored or not.

If it is real, I can try and find some older builds for you to try.

icandy:
It's real, not a fake, and I confirmed that it is working fine and as it should.  Can I go back to 3.13 firmware easily?

Thanks
