How to resume playlist when powersource is put in?
« on: September 09, 2019, 07:56:19 AM »
Hi!

I read this topic: http://forums.rockbox.org/index.php?topic=15666.0 as I need an MP3-Player, that directly resumes playing when a powersource is added. So I bought an Ipod Nano Second Generation, installed Rockbox. I used the settings: 'repeat all' and 'resume playback on startup'. Seems like this does not work at all. First problem is, the startup takes way to long. It must be an immediate resume to play. So basically, the player must be on paused, power source is put in, and it starts playing. Just like the option of resume playing when headphones are put in. I guess now that I would need some kind of plugin for this? Is there any way to make this change in the config file without having programming skills?

Would be great if someone can help me out.

As soon as I turn on the power, USB-Keypad-Mode turns on. That can only be prevented by pressing and holding the play-botton. This should work with hands off the mp3 player.

What if you made a power only cable? I'm assuming you must be plugging into a PC
to test try covering up the two middle pins of the usb plug on the PC side with a small piece of tape

No, I am not putting it into a computer, just plug it in a wall socket. Should that make a difference?

The player only goes into USB-Keypad-Mode if it detects a USB host.  A normal charger won't trigger that.

FWIW I used the iPod Nano 2G in my car for a year or so, and it worked fine in car adapter mode (started with power on, paused with power off).
