--- Quote ---Please note that I am not asking for the "latest dev build" but I am asking for a dev build prior to RB 3.14 (since the build associated with its' release appears to be the problem here) . . . where I can obtain one of the last dev builds for 3.13 and the Sansa e200v2 Series player - before RB 3.14 was released (let's say 2 months before)?
--- End quote ---

your choices are 5 years ago Feb 27, 2012; or 7 months ago Feb 4, 2017, the second build in my last post is with the changes from 7 months ago reverted

I can't really revert the changes from 5 years ago as there is just too much on top of it but hopefully we can narrow down the issue.

Now granted where the error is occurring might not be where the error originates but we will see..

REPORTING BACK

Previously, I confirmed the thumb-wheel volume PROBLEM would occur independent of which THEME was in use.  I prefer using the THEME e200_Steel_2.0 and after installing "SansaE200v2_NO-lcd_bitmap_transparent_part_rockbox-full" the first things I notice include . . .

at startup / power on
LCD does not FLICKER, first RB screen appears, then a pause to a blank screen, and immediately into Now Playing (my preferred startup screen).  Note that in prior testing, the thumb-wheel volume PROBLEM occurred regardless of startup screen.

Now Playing
- graphic associated with volume (upper left hand corner) is gone, however, the dB (numeric) magnitude remains displayed
- graphic associated with battery (upper right hand corner) is gone, however, the battery (numeric) % charge and XXh and XXm magnitudes remain displayed
- when thumb-wheel is turned, Track and size disappear until I stop turning the wheel and then they reappear, AND ONLY the + and - signs shown when the wheel is in motion (no level info is displayed).

Main Menu
- all graphic icons are gone

AT THIS TIME RESOLVED
While there may be more graphic-related items missing, for now, the thumb-wheel volume PROBLEM has yet to occur.  Good work, Bilgus!

What's next?

Thank you, Bilgus.

If I was to choose, I would choose 7 months ago Feb 4, 2017 (without changes reverted).

Bilgus:
'SansaE200v2_NO-lcd_bitmap_transparent_part_rockbox-full'
is just disabling the code where the error is happening.

Since the code in question has to deal with drawing transparent bitmaps
the screen disparities are to be expected.
But, since it doesn't crash that means that is the offending code.

Now on to the build with the last commit to that code reverted..
'SansaE200v2_-R_d787191_g1499_rockbox-full.zip'

With this build the bitmap code is back.

If it still crashes then we have to go further back, still need the contents of the error window though

If it doesn't crash its time to investigate what changed

Excellent analysis and troubleshooting, Bilgus!!

Excellent explanation as well.   :)

Will you be providing a link to download 'SansaE200v2_-R_d787191_g1499_rockbox-full.zip' with bitmap code back - for me to test?

BTW, it's a pleasure working with you.

Thanks again, Bilgus!!
