iRiver H340 128GB MicroSD success - preparing Micro SD Port

(1/1)

bastiblt69:
Hi everyone!

Long time no post. I thought I'd open this thread as I started experimenting with my H340 again. I've succeed in moding it with a Micro-SD XC of 128GB (64GB also tested) and getting real good speeds using the last version of Rockbox.

I'd be interested in posting photos of my Mod really soon, with part ID's for everyone that wants to do it too.

My next steps are:
(1) Making a hole on the side of my H430 and install a MicroSD Remote slot
(2) Test and port many MicroSD

For me really is the ease that, when I'm travelling, I can download/upload things to my iphone via Dropbox using a Lightning-to-MicroSD Cable. Really versatile overall.

Let me know your thoughts, ideas, and if you are interesting in knowing anything about this mod.
Will be posting photos soon.

I am also thinking of modding my X5 with an SD card or a ZIF SSD I have lying around. My idea was using the parts from iflash.xyz, like this converter:

https://www.iflash.xyz/store/4th-gen-converter/

and this adapter:

I just hope that the ribbon cable will survive the bending.

arr. cool didnt know about about that one. the zif to 50pin adaptor might well be useful for me too. ive ordered the bits i linked to. will see if they fit. If you do it too i would enjoy hearing how it went for you too.
